Humboldt Homes has collaborated with Building Lives by Building Structures to train youth to assemble our HomeFree Units. We employ licensed building partners willing to do on-the-job training for this programming and our goal is to create future jobs in the County.
Humboldt County has worked closely with us and has preapproved our HomeFree design. Our HomeFree Accessory Dwelling is part of their permit-free program.
Franklin Richards is a teacher and a builder. BLBS nonprofit is both its own entity and a part of the Home Contained team – Youth Build Carpentry training collaborating with Humboldt Homes as our building partners. The vision and mission is to provide affordable homes while educating and training a workforce within the Hoopa tribal community. Please take advantage of Humboldt County’s ADU Grant Program. If eligible, you can get $40,000 to reimburse pre-development and non-recurring closing costs associated with the construction of the ADU. Predevelopment costs include site prep, architectural designs, permits, soil tests, impact fees, property survey, and energy reports.
